Barcelona!!! last july

January 11th, 2007 by ambersegal in Uncategorized · No Comments

Never posted this. wonder why…

“Yesterday i got back from the Barcelona 2006 languages trip. We did everything: parc guell, sag. fam., famous football place, monserat (why climb a mountain to see a piece of wood on a stick? Why??) shopping on las/los ramblas and of course the water park.

We stayed in lloret de mar possibly the least spanish place in europe. It is home to countless “Kasinos” and “Part-y”s. Our blacony neighbours were italian and german and i met a french guy in the lift (habla espagnol? “no.”). On los ramblas ii managed to ask a policeman for the time and wrote a note to the cleaner to say sorry for the broken glass.”

twas a good trip i thought but then i abandoned my poor little blog. what chance did he/she/it have against the vast all consuming advertising space that is myspace?

well we’re not going down without a fight!

(while i’m on the subject www.myspace.com/elflove)

Goodnight!

First Post of the New Year

January 11th, 2007 by ambersegal in Uncategorized · No Comments

Yes im back (agian) just in time to say bye to my blog readers before i hit the snow on my third QPCS ski trip this time run by the laid back Ms Akhurst. included is the list of rules.

far more important news, i have lost my phone and sent my ipod to Brighton. Yes, Brighton, where they are fixing/destroying/wiping my hardrive. the plus sde is it is being replaced by a 6gb one so that an extra 500 songs! still, if i have to go away without either of these (my essential gadgets, i can be anywhere for any space of time as long i have them) i may go mad.

So christmas was wonderful (http://www.flickr.com/photos/flyinamber/sets…)

i got my hair-dryer-curler-straightner contraption, joel got his new scientist subscription and mum and dad got their salad spinner. the most fun presents were of course milos marble run and the game where you hit little alien creatures with rubber hammers. its really difficult!

and then new year was a lot of fun; i got rid of my family and had friends over with chocolate fountain and a possible rodent in the extention. maddy seemed to really enjoy that party (hehe) while marion and i forgot to sleep.

didnt have a new years resolution but it should probably be stop losing things and get organised. pah.

Prog Rev tomorrow so shopping. if i can function without a phone that is.

Yours, Panicking and Disorderly.

Happy Easter

December 15th, 2006 by ambersegal in My wonderful life · Uncategorized · 2 Comments

greetings my trusty blog readers.

yes, i have truely returned to the internet relms of obscure URLs and fame-hungry-geek-people hoping to have some sort of impact on cyber space.  actually i typed my name into google and this was the first hit.

anyway, HAPPY CHRISTMAS! school doesnt finish till tuesday but who cares? it feels like holidays and theres only 10 days till Baby Jesus was born. this is a time for celebration, for welcoming families for spreading joy and for hospitals to have their best business of the year.

what have i been up to since my last post in…. july i hear you ask.

and i answer:

i sold my soul, got a myspace and downloaded 26 episodes of greys anatomy.  all in all, a very productive 6 months!

must dash, two trees to tastefully decorate and 30 cards to sign. jimmy carr is on jonathon ross, boris johnson is on have i got news for you and borat is back in the synagog.  all is good is the world.  i depart with a happy hanuka, new year and the one everyone forgets.

bye bye! x

Again, I walk around Göttingen looking like an idiot.

August 2nd, 2006 by ambersegal in Uncategorized · 1 Comment

having spent the first half of the week in very short shorts (they were the only thing i could cycle in without boiling) i was pretty glad when today was cold. anyway to cut a long story short, i ended up walking back from town wearing a milkmaids bonnet fashioned out of an old pair of trousers to keep the rain off and pushing a lawnmower. the lawnmower wheels dropped off one by one as we went along. meanwhile, my nephew broke a teapot in his trailer.

I just got back from seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 2. Everyone keeps going on about how it wasnt at good as the first one. Of course it wasn’t quite as amazing but part of that is always the novelty. When are sequels ever as good as the original? i thought it was a great film and the perefct way to continue the story. Having seen the first one to death it was great to have some new material in the same style.  I dunno, maybe I missed something watching it german.

Nixon In China

June 15th, 2006 by ambersegal in Reviews · No Comments

Yesterday the vaguely musical people in yeaer 7 & 8 went to see Nixon in China at the London Colluseum. The singing was very good (obviously) and the dancing was great. The plane, well when they said “there will be a real a plane on the stage” we all raised our hopes. I dont want to spoil the surprise but *cough* cardboard *cough*. The plot was.. erm… quite hard to follow and I’m sure one of the chinese primeminsters (?) died at least 3 times.  Also, the year 8s do not think it was appropriate veiwing for the tender ears and eyes of the year 7s (thank god none of them read this ;). Overall entertaing evening; although i was told not to “woop” at the opera, dear. oops. ate a lovely supper of Marions chocolate cookies and a packet of crisps. Oh yeah and Jesus’ head was on the cieling.

Half term is officially a thing of the past

June 5th, 2006 by ambersegal in My wonderful life · No Comments

Completely forgot about my blog last week. Quick summary of half term:

Flew to Germany on Friday to stay with Joel, Miri and Milo (my brother and his family) where i “discovered” milky coffee and Greys Anatomy. Oh yeah also played with Milo everyday. We know about the same amount of German now, just not necessarily the same words.

Wednesday came home again, cured of “deadly illness”. Spent 2 days doing nothing except catching up with big brother online and videoed Hollyoaks episodes. Oh dear.

Saturday was much more exciting; we drove to oxford and bought a boat (A Kayak Is A Boat). Narrowly diverted a visit to a National Trust house and grounds (not that i have anything against national trust houses ‘n’ grounds, but if you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all and i have seen a lot more than one) by mentioning that I’d never been to Stratford-upon-Avon. My mother got her walk in the country in the end though. There is a river in Stratford-upon-Avon, apparently.

Sunday, I went to Camden town and gave the last 2 kittens away; one to the local Vicar and one to a very nice family is Stoke Newington with a hot tub.

Not much happened today. English teacher was away and Miss Sloan had mysteriously vanished by the end of the day. My parents are off to the family Jazz evening at QPCS. I wish them the best of luck. It would be hard for me to say anything else without mentioning the weather so:

avskjed! (Norwegian. Honestly.)

Heute

May 29th, 2006 by ambersegal in My wonderful life · No Comments

Hallo.

Today i walked round Göttingen’s centre dressed as a giant marshamallow.
Göttingen is such a pretty town, everything is 5 minutes cycle away and the cobbled streets with mock tudor house-fronts are very picturesqe. If you live here its impossible to go out without meeting someone you know. Either you love it or you hate it. Even the graffiti about “pigs” (Engilsh is THE language to swear in) is quite charming. Went to look at Laptops in Saturn where i accidentaly gave my hotmail password to the windows messanger.

Dominic Foord asked me to put this on my blog:

Thanks Dom. Enjoy!
